They're definitely not your average bar band, featuring members of St. Vincent and Kaki King's band and an 11-piece membership, not to mention a horn section. It also helps that they bother to write their own songs, which don't sound like the "prog '80s, lighter-waving, power rock" they promise (thank God). Even if they do jam, it's more in Phish mode (thank God again). If nothing else, you can get off on their purposely goofy costumes and lively stage act—hell, you might even wanna hire them for your next keg party, if not your family's next bar-mitzvah.
