Photographer Sasha Bezzubov has a strange fascination with documenting destruction. Wildfire is Bezzubov's third exhibition at the Front Room Gallery, and a continuation of his ongoing series Things Fall Apart—haunting landscape photographs that capture the aftermath of natural disasters. The series, which he began in 2001, contains photographs from around the world of forest fires, earthquakes, tidal waves, and tornadoes. Wildfire, which was also made into a book by the same name, is a series of photographs from the devastating fires that ravaged Southern California in 2007. His photographs beautifully depict the charred forests and the eerie quiet of once-bustling neighborhoods, from a lone fireplace surrounded by ash and dirt to a single staircase rising into nothing.
