Provided that TV on the Radio and Animal Collective don't spring any unexpected surprises on us, Yeasayer are likely to soak up much of 2010's allotment of Brooklyn-band blog buzz: Like Dear Science and Merriweather Post Pavilion before it, Odd Blood—Yeasayer's new sophomore disc, due out Tuesday on Secretly Canadian—is an undeniably eccentric art-rock record with plenty of room for big choruses, heartfelt vocals, and chewy psych-pop grooves; expect "Ambling Alp," the album's first "single," to appear on next year's Pazz & Jop. With well-connected local lady Shannon Funchess's goth-dance outfit Light Asylum.
