HAND JOB

Check in to playwright Martin McDonagh's motel

Seriously, this play had us at Christopher Walken. Add to it that A Behanding in Spokane follows Walken on a quest to find his missing left hand, and, well, what else do you need to know? Written by Martin McDonagh, who basically gets nominated for a Tony every time he writes a play these days, and directed by John Crowley, who staged McDonagh's acclaimed drama The Pillowman, the dark comedy gets its world premiere on Broadway at the Schoenfeld. The venerable cast includes Sam Rockwell as a jittery hotel clerk and Anthony Mackie and the lovely Zoe Kazan as quarrelling lovebirds who happen to have a hand to sell. Yeah, we don't get it either.
Wednesdays, Saturdays, 2 p.m.; Wednesdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 3 p.m.; Tuesdays, 7 p.m. Starts: Feb. 17. Continues through June 6, 2010
