Though not an exact match, by now this Detroit techno maven has reached Sonny Rollins territory—an influential innovator and master instrumentalist who's never content to rest on his laurels. In the last few years alone, Mills has done movie scored and 7-hour concerts along with an orchestra-accompanied gig (Google it—it's breathtaking). Though a large darkened hall (such as his old Tressor haunt) would be more appropriate, any Mills gig is a good chance to pay respect and see him in action.
