The English Beat+Fishbone
Now that we're on the third (or fourth?) wave of ska bands, it's not a bad time to have this pioneering Brit group from the second wave come back for some well-deserved props. The thing is, the English Beat now equals singer/writer Dave Welking plus a back-up band, which means no Ranking Roger or Saxa or the guys who were later in Fine Young Cannibals. But since Dave and friends can still whip the hell out of most of the third wave groups anyway, this is still a good way to get a fix, especially with mutant God-kiddies Fishbone opening for them.
