The alto voice of Where the Wild Things Are's KW also belts hot jazz on the weekends. Actress Lauren Ambrose, still probably best known as Six Feet Under's confused daughter of a deceased undertaker, sings New Orleans-style swing favorites (as well as a few jazzed up indie-rock hits, including LCD Soundsystem's "New York I Love You") with the six-piece Leisure Class. Judging by her performance at Joe's Pub last year, she's got the makings of a Dixieland diva: The vocal quiver, the flowing red hair, and the flailing arms that put her banjo player on the lookout. With the Wahoo Skiffle Crazies.
