The season is winding down and March Madness is only days away, but there’s still time to catch some great college hoops right here in NYC. The Big East Men’s Basketball Tournament features a long tradition of basketball glory with Connecticut, DePaul, Notre Dame, Georgetown, Louisville, St. John’s, and Syracuse among its 17 members. Since it was founded in 1979 (primarily to focus on basketball), Big East teams have appeared in the NCAA Final Four 43 times and gone all the way 10 times. Syracuse and Villanova are leading the conference as we go to press, but Pitt and West Virginia are close behind—and since everyone gets to play, who knows? Never count UConn out.
