'Arms Around Haiti'
While the situation in Haiti is falling out of the cable news cycle (and out of our culture's short attention span), there remains lots of heavy lifting to do in that country. Knowing that, Brooklynites are rallying donations tonight for organizations such as Doctors Without Borders to to keep up the crucial work that has only just begun. In addition to DJs from Other Music and Sal P from Liquid Liquid (plus yours truly), bands as diverse as ARP and Arthur Russell tribute band Arthur's Landing—plus a rare performance from Teenbeat Records heartthrobs Versus—will all chip in. With Elodie Lauten, Reggie Watts, and Xela.
