FLIGHT OF FANCY

Out of this world

If there's one good thing that has come out of the recession for Eric Wallach, creator of Flight 18, it's the empty retail space. The recipient of a Swing Space grant from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Wallach employed more than 20 artists to build a spaceship in a 6,000-square-foot former store. At the beginning of this interactive journey, the audience checks in at the ticketing counter, goes through security, and then boards the spacecraft. Actors in the form of the in-flight crew take the reins from there; every hour-plus "flight" is a different show. The best perk? Nor'easter or not, this ship won't be grounded.
Thursdays-Saturdays, 7:25 p.m.; Saturdays, 9:25 p.m.; Sundays, 4:55 p.m. Starts: March 4. Continues through April 4, 2010
