We suppose the time has come to start dealing with the truth—melting ice caps, endangered polar bears, and what's with all these earthquakes? Things aren't looking good for us. The end is near! Or is it? Perhaps if New York had a better, stronger infrastructure, then floods, storms, and whatever else Mother Nature decides to throw our way because of climate change wouldn't affect us. The new exhibit Rising Currents: Projects for New York's Waterfrontexplores that very concept through the eyes of five multidisciplinary teams of New York–based architects, engineers, and landscape designers who were specifically selected for this project. And the results are truly eye-opening—just imagine living in a futuristic Manhattan that resembles Venice. Does that mean the MTA would own gondola rights?
