In the decade since Kittie emerged as high-school-aged headbangers lumped into the nü-metal cash machine, they've seen nine members come and go, released five albums, and had one Top 40 hit, 2007's "Funeral for Yesterday." Part of the reason they've had such a rocky road is that they never really fit in with the rest of the red-baseball-cap crowd but have somehow eked out a steady following. Openers God Forbid have faced similar ups and downs, being one of the pioneers of metalcore, even though they boast a far more intricate approach to the genres than the copycats that followed.
