Pedro the Lion was always an army of one: David Bazan, plus backing from his flights of fancy. The hardcore punk vet found success with that moniker in the late-'90s alt-rock undercurrent; his contemplative, secular singer-songwriter tunes were a Seattle staple until his 2006 disbandment (from . . . himself). Under his God-given name, the son of a pastor then toured sporadically with indie vets Vic Chesnutt and Micah P. Hinson, and finally released his stellar, religiously nuanced solo debut Curse Your Branches in 2009. Glad you've returned to the fold, sir. With Headlights.
