In experimental lit mag Black Clock's editorial statement, editor Steve Erickson (author of the excellent novel Zeroville) says, "My idea was that Black Clock really would be a writer's magazine because the magazine offered them the freedom to do anything, to even fuck up if they wanted or needed to." Since its founding in 2004 at the prestigious CalArts, writers who've been given the freedom to fuck up (brilliantly, of course) include Miranda July, Don Delillo, David Foster Wallace, Aimee Bender, and Jonathan Lethem. Today, our favorite literary watering hole KGB hosts a reading with several of Black Clock's earliest esteemed contributors: Samuel R. Delany (Dark Reflections), Rick Moody (The Ice Storm), Joanna Scott (Tourmaline), Shelley Jackson (Half Life), and Lynne Tillman (American Genius, A Comedy).
