ALL HAIL THE QUEENS

Dust off your ball gown, and your wig

Those who fear that the gay agenda has something to do with homosexuals taking over the world will be both vindicated and terrified by the Imperial Court of New York’s 24th annual Night of a Thousand Gowns. This benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and God’s Love We Deliver sees the crowning of new monarchs from the community each year—tonight, Imperial Crown Prince Royal Jack and Imperial Crown Princess Royale Farrah Moans get the honor. And they’re not the only royalty in attendance; titles ranging from Duke and Duchess to Shah and Shabanou are available for purchase by commoners ($150 and $500, respectively). Attendees dress accordingly in lavish gowns and regal suits. A dinner ticket starts at $300, but you can skip the gala grub and opening number honoring last year’s emperor and empress (titled “Tony Anne Tique’s Wedding”) for a $125 admission after 10 p.m. As long as you’re there for the late-night theatrics—that’d be the thrilling midnight coronation and the royal drag queens battling each other for a morsel from the Viennese dessert buffet—you’ll have seen it all.
