Oakley Hall+Citay

Brooklyn's Oakley Hall settled into a straighter indie-twang vibe with their last album, 2007's I'll Follow You. More recently, they've expanded to a big band that captures something of their original cosmic drive, still buoyed by the harmonies of founding Oneida guitarist Pat Sullivan and guitarist/vocalist Rachel Cox, who've also been appearing with M. Ward lately. Citay, from San Francisco, have gotten straighter, too, evolving into a twin-guitar/organ attack on their recent Dream Get Together that weirdly (and kind of sweetly) recalls first-wave jambands such as Solar Circus and the Mad Hatters. With Mia Riddle and Prince Ruperts Drops.
