THE QUESTIONNAIRE

Leonard Lopate turns 25—the show, that is

We might still be recuperating from the party celebrating Michael Musto’s 25 years as a columnist at the Voice, but we’d never turn down a media soiree, especially one honoring another quarter-century in journalism. This time, the milestone belongs to WNYC host Leonard Lopate, who gets raked over the coals tonight in Music, Memories and Mockery: A Leonard Lopate 25th Anniversary Roast. Andy Borowitz hosts a lineup of former guests and friends of the impeccable interviewer, including Chuck Close, Martha Plimpton, Rosie Perez, and his own brother, author Phillip Lopate. “To stay on the air for 25 years, either the audience loves you or you’re sleeping with the management,” said Borowitz. “In Leonard’s case, to my knowledge only the former is true.”
