New York Mets host the Chicago Cubs
Mets fans, take heart. There are new faces in the Mets' lineup—slugger Jason Bay, Rod Barajas, and Gary Matthews Jr. And there's more to be excited about: By the time you read this, there's a good chance José Reyes and Carlos Beltrán will be back. The Cubbies finished over .500 last season and were a respectable second in their division, and Cubs manager Lou Piniella, though he can no longer be called "fiery," has always been a big New York fan favorite. Also watch for first baseman Derrek Lee, one of the league's premiere sluggers. Added bonus: If the rotation holds, you might get to see the great Johan Santana pitch.
