20 Million Miles to Earth

Dir. Nathan Juran (1957). Nothing wrong with Juran's direction of actors, but the prime attraction of any of stop motion effects wizard Ray Harryhausen's flicks is always the work of that great artist. This is the one about the egg from Venus hatched on Earth unleashing a reptilian creature—the humongous Ymir that destroys everything in its path. A highlight is a fight to the death between creature and an elephant on the streets of Rome. Bring the kids.
