Dir. Ben Stoloff (1934). A flashy vehicle for machine gun mouth Lee Tracy whose character is based on New York's flamboyant and disgraced Jazz Age Mayor Jimmy Walker who was forced to resign in 1932 in a corruption scandal, this is a fascinating piece of period headline exploitation. His hedonistic Honor was more interested in the high life and showgirls than his official functions—there's next to nothing of him at work. Bob Hope did another Tracy remake of sorts—but his 1957 Beau James is a bore.
