Would New York be half as good without its daring downtown theater scene? Of course not! So, for the next couple of nights, you—along with celebrity guests—can show your support for two very worthy NYC institutions. First, tonight, is American Fiction: Loved, Banned, and Mythologized, a benefit for the nearly-20-year-old theater group Elevator Repair Service, with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and celebrity readers Fred Armisen, Lili Taylor, Frances McDormand, and Frankie Faison.
