BROKEN OUT

Pill-popping nurse teams with Alison Pill

If you get stuck in a subway car lined with ads for Nurse JackieEdie Falco’s stern face staring you down on the way to your destination—look on the bright side: At least you didn’t get those graphic ads about bedbugs or, worse yet, dermatologist Dr. Zizmor. Evidenced by her unnerving visage, Falco’s Jackie is a no-nonsense dame (as her roles tend to go). In Chloe Moss’s This Wide Night, directed by Anne Kaufman, Falco portrays an ex-con trying to make a go of it on the outside with her former cellmate (Alison Pill). The play was originally developed by London’s Clean Break theater company in collaboration with women affected by the criminal justice system, some of whom may agree with another age-old subway ad (and a word of advice for Nurse Jackie): Say “No” to Drugs.
Saturdays, Sundays, 2 p.m.; Tuesdays-Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Sundays, 7 p.m. Starts: May 8. Continues through June 20, 2010
