These jumpy Vancouver guitar-pop guys put out a nifty major-label disc in 2007 that didn't quite blow up as expected, so for their upcoming Future Breeds(out June 8) they've signed to Los Angeles-based Dangerbird Records, which has helped drive Silversun Pickups to respectable mid-level success. To remind people that they exist, Hot Hot Heat are playing Public Assembly every Wednesday in May; they'll do a similar deal next month in L.A. This is called motivating your core. With the Willowz and Grooms.
