Growing up, there were certain television programs that always made me wonder, Isn’t this, like . . . porn? One was reruns of The Benny Hill Show and the other was Lucha Libre, which had masked men in glammed-out tights with practically naked women as their posse—definitely perplexing but tons of fun. Now, Lucha VaVOOM takes the outrageousness of Mexican wrestling and turns it up a notch (or two). Aside from the action in the ring, the show also includes comedy and stripteases—starring burlesque beauties Carolina Cerisola, Michelle L’Amour, and the Wau Wau Sisters. Lucha VaVOOM also pays tribute to old-school Lucha Libre legends such as Mysterioso and Super Parka. Plus, a smackdown between midget wrestlers Li’l Chicken and the mini Chupacabra, Chupacabrita. ¡Ay dios!
