Starscream
Named after a scheming Decepticon (of Transformers fame), this Game Boy-and-drums duo is one of New York's most promising young chiptune bands, but their real talent is making us forget their age. The sounds may be the same coarse, 8-bit spurts and stutters used by their peers, but the pieces are way more mature, almost begging for restatement in a less unusual format so they might stand entirely on their own merits. Somebody get these kids a Minimoog and a horn section so we can watch them transform. With Idiot Glee and Blair.
