Everybody Was In the French Resistance… Now! is the side project of Art Brut's Eddie Argos, a true pop connoisseur. Working with the Blood Arm's Dyan Valdés, Argos' album Fixin' the Charts Volume 1 amounts to the intentionality of a "Weird Al" Yankovic single, riffing on popular songs (Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend" from the perspective of a ho-duped lonelyheart! Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" from the fatherless progeny!) in an attempt to rewrite the errors of music history. While one critic was right to point out that every song vaguely sounds like "The Monster Mash," onstage wit and bombast come from a mere wiggle of Argos' perennially-raised eyebrows.
