Eccentric oddball actor Crispin Glover, who, these days, apparently hangs out in his 15-room castle in the Czech Republic, returns to the IFC Center for two nights to screen his rarely seen avant-garde films and give an hour-long performance that is sure to live up to his “King of Weird” title. Tonight, he’ll show It Is Fine! Everything Is Fine. (2007), about a man with cerebral palsy (played by the film’s screenwriter Steven C. Stewart) who has the power to seduce any woman. And on Tuesday, he presents What Is It?(2005), which stars a cast of actors with Down syndrome and features some seriously stomach-turning snail mutilation. After the film, Glover will roll out his “Big Slide Show,” in which he maniacally reads from 19th-century books that he has artfully rearranged and added his own words to, creating stories that we’re certain make sense to no one else but him. A Q&A and book signing follow the performance.
Mon., May 31, 7:30 p.m.; Wed., June 2, 7:30 p.m.; Thu., June 3, 7:30 p.m., 2010
