While Sunday Best—the summertime dance party that convenes on the fetid banks of the Gowanus Canal—has had some heavyweights on its decks previously, they've never featured anyone quite like Cologne's Michael Mayer. The third season of Best kicks off in a big way with the father of Germany's Kompakt imprint, an international superstar known for pumping glitzy yet uplifting techno. His most recent mix CD, Immer 3, finds the man in peak form, deftly melding the gentle voices of Hope Sandoval and Charlotte Gainsbourg to massive grooves. The chance to catch the man out of doors while imbibing in pupusas and sangria is simply too delicious to miss. With resident DJs Justin Carter, Eamon Harkin, and Doug Singer.
