50 Cent

The mixtape madman famously threatened to put the rap game in a choke hold on "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'," but that felt more like Chinese finger cuffs once "Curtis" lost a much-hyped release-day sales showdown with Kanye in 2007. That album's wicked single "I Get Money" was a financial victory lap anyway, but not because of the rhymes––returns from a savvy early investment in Vitamin Water still dwarf his rap income. Clearly 50 Cent already knew back in 2003 what the rest of us are just now learning: the real gangstas are on Wall Street.
