THE WRITE STUFF

Rub elbows with the lit-magerati

"Sometimes, a writer, like an acrobat, must try a trick that is too much for him," said E.B. White. And then sometimes, that writer just needs to take a break and have fun with other writers at the 11th Annual Lit Mag Marathon Weekend, presented by the Council of Literary Magazines and Presses. The two-day affair starts Saturday with "The Magathon," in which editors representing various journals (including Fence, Gigantic, and Electric Literature) read their favorite selections from their latest issues at the New York Public Library. Sunday is their Giant Lit Mag Fair at Housing Works, where hundreds of literary magazines will be on sale for the super-low price of $2 a copy. Magazine editors will also be on hand to meet and greet. 'The Magathon' Saturday from 4 to 6:30, New York Public Library, Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street; 'The Giant Lit Mag Fair' today from noon to 5, Housing Works Used Book Café, 126 Crosby Street
Sat., June 19, 4 p.m.; Sun., June 20, noon, 2010
