Woods and Real Estate, the fraternal twin bros of Woodsist's roster, make equally drift-minded music perfect for summer haze. Each use fairly traditional indiepop to channel the dislocating hypna-gogic side-work by their members (in Woods, cassette operator G. Lucas Crane, who records as Nonhorse; in Real Estate, Matthew Mondanile, who records as Ducktails). Also of note is the New York debut of Moon Duo, the crazed side gig of Wooden Shjips guitar hero Ripley Johnson—the jams unpack the Shjips' motorik obsession and pilot it towards new and shreddier vistas.
