THE FACTORY, REBORN

Sex, drugs, and rock and roll? Let’s find out!

I often dream that I’m sitting on a dingy couch—with Lou Reed and Edie Sedgwick next to me—in a room draped in foil from top to bottom, with some dude getting a blow job. And then I wake up. But tonight, my dream could actually come true when the good folks at Society HAE transform the Brooklyn Museum’s First Saturday Dance Party into The Factory 2010. In honor of the museum’s current exhibit Andy Warhol: Last Decade, everyone who attends can feel like a star by posing for portraits and getting their 15 minutes by answering three questions via video (“What is your name?” “What do you do?” and “What would you like to be known for?”). Most importantly, the party features a dance floor with songs by all our coolest “friends” from the ’80s, such as David Bowie, Grace Jones, Debbie Harry, and Diana Ross.
Sat., July 3, 9 p.m., 2010
