Lynyrd Skynyrd+Bret Michaels

Tonight, a bunch of Florida guys who didn't write their own songs will play one really long one about Alabama being home. Of course, the details of Lynyrd Skynyrd's current state don't really matter. Frontman Johnny Van Zant sounds enough like his deceased brother, Ronnie, and guitarist Gary Rossington—the group's sole original member—could play "Freebird" backwards in his sleep (and probably has), which is what the fans really want. Their direct support tonight is hair-metal king Bret Michaels, the sleazy Poison frontman who recently won Celebrity Apprentice and is rumored to be replacing Simon Cowell on American Idol. That makes us wonder whether Skynyrd would make it to Hollywood Week. With .38 Special.
