A few years ago, the B-52s released Funplex, their first album in 16 years. It had some good songs, but the retro dance-rock group seemed to have scaled down some of their trademark kitsch: They used modern synthesizers, there were no beehives on the cover art, and they ditched the apostrophe in their name (egregious grammar notwithstanding, it captured something about them). What matters tonight, though, is that although they've gotten serious about some minuscule facets of their B-52'sness, they’re still serious about partying—in fact, that's still the main topic on most of Funplex. Tin roof, still rusted. With Supercluster.
