For the Beets (who for the record, did not steal their name from Nickelodeon's Doug), Jackson Heights is the scene, not Williamsburg. They're the Queens-bred, dappled '60s, guitar-rock stars in this lineup, but don't forget reverb-y girl duo Coasting, Real Estate side project Alex Bleeker & the Freaks, Mississippi scuzz-rockers Dead Gaze, and former Titus Andronicus member Andrew Cedermark. For a scant eight dollars, that's serious bang for your buck. Psst: these Beets will also play "Killer Tofu" on request.
