According to Coliseum, the band used to sound like "skeletons riding motorcycles"—fast, hard, street-fighting music that was equal parts Discharge and Motörhead. Some old fans are worried: Now with a new drummer (who grooves instead of steamrolls), a new indie post-rock label (Temporary Residence Ltd.), and a new album with indie cameos such as Will Oldham and J. Robbins (House with a Curse), maybe they've gone soft? They're newly conscious of grooves and hooks, yes, but not soft; fans of Fucked Up and Torche will love the new, more accessible grit.
