A WHOLE NEW WORLD

Prepare to have your mind blown

Known for performing guerrilla-style pranks to critique the stuffiness of the art world, the witty art collective Bruce High Quality Foundation is now teaming up with Grammy-winning Andres Levin (who has worked with Miguel Bose, David Byrne, and Natalie Merchant) to put on a DIY music and art festival that's decidedly anything but pretentious. Titled Field of Dreams (Un Mundo Nuevo), it's amusingly described as a cross between the "World's Fair of '39 meets Summer of '69 in the recession of '09" and an "epic thunderfuck"—in other words, expect loads of spontaneous performances and surprises by the likes of Cucu Diamantes, M1 from Dead Prez, Los Hanky Panky vs. Yerba Buena, Les Nubians, Forro in the Dark, and John Medeski, among others. It's all part of the continuing awesomeness at Celebrate Brooklyn! Check your inhibitions at the gate.
