This San Fran boy (almost literally—he's a mere 23 years old) has a thing for creepy Halloween masks and knows how to fuzz 'n' sludge up his garage rock in an appropriate lo-fi setting. Lurking under there are short, if not sweet, and pretty catchy tunes, and they make him more personable than before. Perhaps, like Jay Reatard, he'll go the power-pop route at some point—also like Jay, don't be surprised if it suits him just fine. With Royal Baths, the Babies, and Zulus.
