BAD DREAMS

Hide under the covers at the Rattlestick Theater

There’s little that’s remarkable underneath our bed. Sure, the dust bunnies rival real bunnies in size, but they’re harmless. Mostly. Yet playwright Florencia Lozano, best known as a soap opera star, has rather more troubling things lurking just beyond her sham. Her new play, underneathmybed, which has certain autobiographical resonances, concerns an Argentine family starting over in Newton, Massachusetts, but haunted by memories of the country they’ve abandoned. And the youngest daughter is convinced there’s a woman living beneath her box spring. Pedro Pascal directs this Rattlestick Playwrights Theater production, while performers including Vanessa Aspillaga, Audrey Esparza, and Paula Pizzi get between the sheets.
Mondays, Wednesdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 3 p.m. Starts: Sept. 1. Continues through Oct. 16, 2010
