DEATH BECOMES HER

Sheila Callaghan returns to the scene of the crime

A member of the Obie-winning playwrights’ collective 13P and resident of the New Dramatists, 37-year-old playwright Sheila Callaghan is not one to shy away from a challenge or from the “for mature audiences only” label—she’s riffed on James Joyce’s Ulyssesin Dead City, followed ex-stripper assassins of pro-lifers in That Pretty, Pretty; or the Rape Play, and created a talking apartment for Crumble (Lay Me Down, Justin Timberlake). Her latest, Roadkill Confidential, which is described as “a noir-ish meditation on brutality,” concerns an artist who is suspiciously fascinated by accident victims and the “possibly rogue” FBI man on her trail. Kip Fagan directs this Clubbed Thumb production.
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays-Sundays, 8 p.m.; Sun., Sept. 12, 4 p.m.; Sat., Sept. 18, 4 p.m.; Sat., Sept. 25, 4 p.m. Starts: Sept. 7. Continues through Sept. 28, 2010
