THREE CANDLES OUT

And three sheets to the wind

Wooden Shjips (pronounced “The Velvet Underground”) are an apt choice to ring in Music Hall of Williamsburg’s third anniversary; they’re boisterous, sloggy with reverb, and altogether reflective of the rising, psych-pop Williamsburg undercurrent. (One caveat: They’re from San Francisco.) Their two discs on the Holy Mountain label are as demented and potentially devil-worshipping as MHOW’s address; cheapskates, embrace your new pagan idols, as their show (and all drinks) are only $3 tonight.
