Janka Nabay is a musician from Sierra Leone who emigrated to New York by way of Philadelphia and has lately, via a backing band comprised of members of Brooklyn's Skeletons, begun making the rounds in Williamsburg. The DIY soundsystems give Nabay's bubu an overheated YouTube sizzle. Not to mention the shock of (sometimes) seeing Nabay in full regalia, straw skirt, and facepaint in a neighborhood where pale beardos usually tread. Returning to Skeletons' ancestral home at Silent Barn, they're joined by San Francisco-based pan-African Banana Clipz soundsystem. With Unicornicopia, Telethon, and Machine Drum.
