New Idea Society play the sort of keyboard-driven post-space rock that always includes lyrics about regret and self-analysis, sort of like the first-wave emo bands. Their original lineup boasted indie-rock question mark Stephen Brodsky of metal-cum-alt-rock-cum-metal-again troubadours Cave-In, which sort of explains their preoccupation with uncertainty. But by all accounts, they've created their own sound without him and, despite their lyrics, they play it with a lot of confidence, too. With the Mood and Koko Ono.
