Hey, ICP may be immature and like a singularity of stupid, but they are very savy buisnessmen.
They pulled an L:Ron:Hubbard, if you can turn what you peddle into a religion, you will be immune to all the rules of commerce. These kids worship the band in a litteral sense, which means that ICP will always have someone to sell their records to. Because if you are gonna stop being a fan, it means getting out of the cult.
Also by being real life trolls, ICP have been able to drum up a lot of mainstream coverage. Before "Miracles", I barely remembered, thar ICP was still around, by trolling they are suddenly "worthy" of ridicule on Saturday Night Live.

If I told you how easy it is to get a job in this recession, you wouldn't believe me. I agree with Pete not all Juggalos are by any means stupid or dropouts give it I am a drop out but I got my GED I wasn't wanted by many people I was shunned by my peers for what ever reason they chose to but I found ICP and the fam and now I am succeful I manage my own store soon to own my own buisness and well they have great messages in the music if you really listen.

I want to make this perfectly clear. I am a Juggalo, I am Intelligent, Kind, and very Confident in myself. I am also a Certified Nursing Assistant in a dementia unit. I care about people.
The type of music I listen to has nothing to do with my intelligence. All of the other commentators who write that the music is Dumb, Misogynistic or dangerous lack the ability to differentiate between music and message. ICP makes music that when looked at in an unbiased manner has so much more to offer than gory, profane lyrics laced with cartoony violence, and the generalization that all Juggalos are uneducated misfits is unfair and unwarranted. This movement is a result of a group of people who found comfort, friendship and a sense of belonging through the music and message that ICP puts out. Many people who are on the outside don't understand what it is like to be alone in the world, and not having anyone to talk to. To be constantly put down or shoved aside because they don't fit in. If you have an open mind and wonder exactly what ICP is about I suggest you read the lyrics of songs like "Terrible" and "Pass me by". Ignoring the expletives you will find that those two songs are by and large a positive message. "Terrible" becomes less an expletive laced heavy metal minded song and more a message about the inequities of what society deems to be horrifying. For example one line from the song is "900 good reasons why this word really don't care, thats what it costs for a wheelchair!" If that were to be put into a song made by a host of artists like "We are the world" it would be praised as socially conscious, but since it came from the minds of two high school dropouts who just happen to paint their faces up it is ridiculed. In response to those who would say too that ICP is somehow satanic, evil, or just deny that they preach any kind of positive message I say this. Is it not the goal of most philosophical, ideological or moral teaching that everyone regardless of color, creed, background, age, intelligence, sex or religion should be treated fairly and equally with compassion love and fellowship? That is what Family means to true Juggalos. It means that everyone on this earth that understands this idea is as close to me as blood. Maybe if more people around the world used that kind of thinking the world itself would be a much better place. That is why I'm a Juggalo, and proud of it.

I read the article. I just wanna say that I've been down with the Clown since 97. I was introduced to their music by accident. I was BS'n with who was than my Best Friend. I saw their cover art for their albums and decided to listen to the music. I liked it and have been a loyal Juggalo since than. I must say though that I am no longer friends with that person who introduced me to ICP's music, but am grateful for discovering that I am and always will be a Juggalo. thank you for this article. a lot of new juggalos give the rest of us a bad name. but when we were their age, we didnt have gatherings we could be FREE at. its up to the juggalo that have "been down" for a long time to show the new guys the ropes. you cant describe what a juggalo is. the closest ive come, is its a life style. preps, jocks, nerds, gangsters, whatever.... In this article they talk about people getting their ass beat and somone being stabbed the stabbing was unfortunate as the article states maybe the fucker was higher then a kite, but as for the other in here they state that the guy beat with the lead pipes had a warrent out and maybe he did something in the gathering that caused him to get his ass beat because in another part of this article they state that right as soon as the FAMILY started to chant to them they would stop and stomp off in different directions so even the article is being hypocrtical on itself.

That sure took a long time to read but at least I feel more informed about something I've wondered about from time to time. I couldn't help but notice that the only people of color seemed to be on the stage (and it didn't go well for them). I wish there was something like this for Kevin Smith fans (live podcasts, pot smoking and everybody mellowed out and not throwing anything including attitude).
It's seems pretty messed up that so many people get hit and injured with flying projectiles; if they could stop that maybe they'd get to next level (whatever that may be).
