ARCADE FIRE

They sure play a mean pinball

The Hudson Valley recently lost a beloved pinball museum, causing a stir among arcade enthusiasts from as far away as NYC, according to an article in the New York Times. So, now that Beacon's Retro Arcade Museum has shuttered, just where will all the players go? We'd like to recommend the Brooklyn Pinball Championship tonight at Satellite Lounge. The bar's three pinball machines are turned over to the tourney, which pits groups against one another for World Pinball Player Rankings, the industry standard, so to speak. (The victor at the end of the year with the most WPPR points is crowned "World's Greatest Pinball Player.") Even if you're not vying for the top spot on the planet, the game is worth joining. Organizer Francesco La Rocca promises, "Prizes will be given to everyone."
