Like Hank Williams III, Bare manages to keep a noted country family name alive while bucking the family's musical history. Part of the fun of following Bare Jr. (actually Hank III too) is seeing which path he treads with each album. This time, he's going for well-produced, poppy ballads and he does a commendable job with them. Live, he's always proved a lot looser so expect him to let it all hang out onstage.
