Leavening boisterous horns and drums with Euro-pop sass, Bucharest's Mahala Rai Banda headlines the sixth annual New York Gypsy Festival's afternoon-long cornerstone concert. Turkish clarinetist Selim Sesler has been blowing wild and free at weddings and festivals since the '60s. Técsöi Banda is a rough gem of a combo that plays traditional Russian music of the Máramarosians. And saxophonist Yuri Yunakov is a fleet-fingered star of the Bulgarian wedding scene's rhythmically challenging prog-folk subgenre.
