Street food vendors have it tough. There's the daily competition to get the best parking spot with the least likelihood of garnering a ticket and the best chance of attracting a good, hungry crowd. And now there's the sixth-annual competition for the title of "Best Street Food Vendor" via the Vendy Awards, a cook-off, tasting, and judgment day for the greatest of our city's culinary street artists. Though the cheap tickets are sold out, for a sponsorship rate of $200, you get all the free food you ever wanted from a street cart but didn't have enough cash on hand to actually buy. Plus, you get unlimited beer, wine, and soda, and a vote in the categories of People's Taste Award, Best Dessert, and Rookie Vendor of the Year.
