Scarface

Dir. Howard Hawks (1932). The great gangster flick of the early ‘30s is an outrageously black screwball comedy with Paul Muni hamming it up in a parody impersonation of criminal culture hero Al Capone. Machine guns were invented for this baby, which in addition to some rattlingly good dialogue, features flaming performances by two of the toughest flappers in Depression Hollywood: Ann Dvorak and Karen Morley.
Wednesdays-Fridays, 1:30 p.m. Starts: Sept. 22. Continues through Sept. 24, 2010
