MOVRunis not only environment-friendly—no paper cups, no T-shirt giveaways, and forget "welcome bags"—but they also focus on helping people out: Proceeds from this race go to teach ballroom dancing to inner-city kids. Their Central Park 5K run (held on the second Saturday of each month) is a special treat. The course, designed by fitness coach Matt Hackney (author of The Fire Within, the best-selling guide to fitness and weight loss), takes you around the lake with a great vista of fall foliage and the natural beauty of Central Park. There are usually no more than 100 runners, so you won't get crushed in the crowd, and prizes include dance lessons and nutritional consulting.
